The Evening Pathasala Project, initiated by the District Administration Rupnagar, aims to provide quality education to underprivileged children who have limited access to formal schooling. This project focuses on delivering educational support during the evening hours, making it accessible to students who may be engaged in other activities during the day. The initiative seeks to bridge the educational gap and ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive academically.
The
Evening Pathasala Project operates in various locations across the district,
including near Gausala Slum, near Sadabrat
Slum, and near IIT Ropar Slum, where we have successfully enrolled more than 67
students back into school. The project started in January 2024 and is currently
ongoing. It utilizes community centers, schools, and other local venues to
conduct classes. Experienced teachers and volunteers provide instruction in
core subjects such as mathematics, science, languages, and social studies.
Additionally, the program incorporates extracurricular activities, including
arts, sports, and life skills training, to foster holistic development.
A key
component of the project is its emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility efforts are made to reach out to marginalized communities, ensuring that
children from all backgrounds can benefit from the program. The project also
collaborates with local organizations like district Red Cross and stakeholders
to mobilize resources and create a supportive learning environment.
By empowering
children with education, the Evening Pathasala Project aims to uplift
communities, reduce dropout rates, and pave the way for a brighter future for
the youth of Rupnagar.
